iBlackboard: The Black Board on your iPhone

Nowadays, a lot of new technologies, gadgets, products that has been released, majority of them are cases designed for iPhone’s. The iBlackBoard, which is thankfully just a design concept by KALOMIX LIMITED, falls into that latter category. The Blackboard iPhone case concept, called iBlackboard, is far from practicality because, whatever you write on the case will most likely get rubbed off when you put it in your pocket, or it will likely to be like it has a dust, plus you have to always have a chalk carried around you? And why would and anyone want this if your iPhone’s OS includes a Notepad application by default?. But look at the good side of it, see the benefit of being able to quickly jot down notes without even having to unlock the iPhone, or even being able to sketch your own custom case design.

Is it a good idea to have case like this to jut down easily what you want to write, but you need a chalk to carry around you? or you want to go better with expensive electronics?

What do you think?

i3DG Palm Top Theater for your iPhone or iPod,puts 3D movies in the palm of your hand

Palm Top Theater puts 3D movies in the palm of your hand. It is an exhibition consisting of a device called i3DG. i3DG derives from the words”I”,  “3D”, and “Gadget”.

i3DG is invented by Jitsuro Mase, a media artist, and produced by DIRECTIONS, Inc, a Japanese media production company.

i3DG is a playful analog extension to an iPhone or an iPodTouch, converting its 2D display into a layered 3D view. Using the old technique of placing a half-silvered mirror at a 45-degree angle in front of an image, in a new context, the project extends upon 3D displays and iPhones. As a peripheral gadget, i3DG can support a wide range of different applications, from  3Dvideos and animations to accelerometer-based games.

This device lets you enjoy 3D movies right in the palm of your hand without 3D glasses or other gear. Both production and playback of the visuals do not require special technology or equipment, such as shooting imagery with 2 cameras or using complicated CG technique for image production. It has won a prize of an international competition, Ars Electronica Festival 2010 Honorary Mention.

iPhone vs. Android vs. BlackBerry how smartphone users see each other (Comic)

C-Section Comics recently published a humorous look at iPhone, Android, and Blackberry users, featuring how each segment of the smartphone user market perceives each other.

This is how smartphone users see each other:

Apparently, the typical iPhone user sees herself as hip, Blackberry users see her as a baby, and Android users consider her as part of Steve Jobs’ death squad. The typical Android user thinks he’s a genius. But iPhone users see him as a nerd, while Blackberry users as a loser in a dead-end job. Typical Blackberry users consider themselves as big-deal businessmen, but are seen as old fogeys by iPhone users, and dinosaurs by Android users.

From my personal observation, not necessarily so, but I do know that a lot of people do subscribe to them. Like Particularly the Blackberry user. We’ve been seeing many smartphone users moving away from the Blackberry platform because they are finally figuring out that no matter what email platform they use for corporate messaging, it just doesn’t make sense anymore to pay for their outrageously priced infrastructure when so many phones support ActiveSync.

Funny thing but somehow true….lol.

Table Connect for iPhone multitouch on steroids! Big Time!

In terms of gadgets, smaller is usually better. Technology company spend more time and money in order to create some of the world’s smallest, sleekest and most lightweight devices. Early next week, however, the giant technology will change gears entirely when it introduces its 58-inch Table Connect for iPhones, the biggest smart phone device you will ever see.

The Table Connect is basically a desktop with iPhone functionality. The huge multi-touch screen is equipped with a 30-pin Dock Connector that lets users hook it up directly to their iPhone. When attached, the Table Connect mirrors everything that is happening on the handset. All of the applications and data that are on the phone can be accessed using the 58″ capacitive multi-touch desktop. With a bit of magic, the table becomes your iPhone.

Table Connect States:

We are about to put the final touches on the “iPhone Table” prototype. Table Connect for iPhone is what you have been waiting for, multitouch on steroids!

For now, we start with mock-ups as well. Currently, we are finishing up the work on the alpha release software for the table.

The iPhone is attached via the standard dock connector – immediately after it is attached, the magic starts to happen. The entire content of the iPhone’s screen will be projected onto the multitouch table, still giving full access to all the touch gestures using multitouch technology.

Just by looking at pictures of the Table Connect for iPhone, we assume it will probably be out of the price range of most consumers.
