According to Makoto Kimura-company president, Nikon wants to create a whole “new market” with its next big idea. Kimura says it’s time for digital cameras to move with the times and Nikon will be ready to take up its usual leadership position. Nikon wants to join a growing ranks of mirrorless interchangeable lens shooters that passage over a gap between full-fledged DSLR and pocket-friendly compact cameras.
According to EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens) cameras have already proven that in order to get superior low light performance, a larger sensor is absolutely necessary, and unless Nikon has suddenly defined the laws of science/physics.
Looks interesting right? for me, that’s actually not a bad idea. I would love to be able to have the quality of a full-fledged DSLR when I need it, and the portability of a point-and-shoot anytime else.
